The Opportunity

It’s human nature to follow the crowd. Most people don’t want to stick out, to be an anomaly, to risk judgement and to look bad. Whether in Hollywood or in any other business, the convention is to copy from what’s gone before and to borrow from the tried and tested. And therein lies the opportunity. Not being formulaic doesn’t require a terrifying high-risk leap into the abyss, but rather a curiosity to find your voice and to know that the world is always glad to hear an original story.

I know from personal experience the many challenges of running a small business.

I also know how difficult it can be to define what your business is and why it matters to anyone else.I I listen between the lines to help you see the wood for the trees (mixing several metaphors along the way).

Because it’s really grounded in your value and your values, the process naturally gives you the clarity and confidence to blaze your own trail and accomplish your ambitions.

John Davison - Founder

John is a BAFTA award winning Creative Director, Art Director, Designer & Illustrator.

For a while there I ran a decent-sized creative agency called Kanoti. We delivered a ton of large-scale creative and design projects in media and entertainment (BBC, Channel4, MTV Disney and many others).

I learned the hard way that to be a generic ‘all-service’ business, to be indistinct from your competition, means pitching for work in the melee and, if selected at all, usually being selected on price, not expertise, talent and value.

These days, what really floats my boat is working with founders of smaller businesses and using my storytelling and creative skills to help them thrive. I also love the fact that I can oversee each project from end to end. And of course, I get to create distinctive, brave, stand-out brands.

I’ve been in the Brighton creative community for many moons now. As such I call on an army of brilliant collaborators when needed.
